That moment where you want to throw all the papers in the air and tell your colleague to F*** off.
That moment your kid is having a temper tantrum and you want to pick up your phone and keys and just walk out the door.
That moment you get into a car accident, you fall on your face, the entire report disappears from your laptop or the text you meant for your loved one went to your boss instead.
Ugh. I’ve been there. Haven’t you?
It’s like everything in life is going the wrong way and stress is piling up like the leaves that are falling from the trees this time of year!
Stress has us tied up in knots. Theoretical mind boggling knots that make us behave in crazy ways or have us fantasize about behaving in crazy ways.
Also actual knots throughout our entire bodies. Headaches or colds that appear from nowhere. Tears that roll down our cheeks and f bombs that drop like rain when a simple ‘No thanks’ would’ve sufficed when someone asked us to go out of our way to do something for the 100th time.
We get grumpy and tense.
Then irritable and snappy.
We see the world through judgements and irrational thought.
Which leads to moments of deliriousness where our decision making can be compromised.
All from stress.
We become stress monster s and it’s ruining our lives.
If we let it go too long this is just who we are known as. Grumpy, crazy stress ball monsters. I’m sure you can think of a few people like this. What a difficult way to live life.
The question is – How do we get out of this rut?
Well if you’ve been reading a while then you probably already know my approach to ruts. If not check it out –> HERE.
But my message today simple. I’m with you. You’re not alone!
There’s days or even weeks (YIKES!!) that I’m a stress monster too. That version of me is not fun to be around and it’s difficult for me to feel inspired to share words of wisdom each week.
Actually I’m in that space as I write right now (!) which is exactly why I want you to know it’s okay to feel stressed and overwhelmed sometimes. Life changes, things happen and we can’t always be on the yellow brick road to success.
But it is these times that are the ones that can define us. How we handle ourselves supports our growth, development and strength to manage adversity. It’s not always rainbows and unicorns and I know that but that yellow brick road to success is one I want to get back on as soon as I’m ready.
So, here’s to getting through some tough days.
We’ve all got’em but let’s work on letting our inner stress monster go.
PS with Hallowe’en this week there’s bound to be a ton of candy laying around. Stress can drive us to eat mindlessly. If this is your go to – be ready with this FREE download –> HERE.
